Decorating & Furniture/Paint Colour

Question
My friend is re-painting most of her interior. She has gorgeous wood trim,
stained dark mahongony and dark hardwood flooring throughout. Her kitchen
has heavy wood cabinets and tends to be a bit dark as there isn't much light. I
think I have talked her out of painting her trim white, as the wood is too nice.
She is partial to a "chocolate brown" colour but I think it will darken the room
too much and will be hard to match with the trim. Can you advise what
colours to work with? I'm partial to the Benjamin Moore Historical Colours and
was thinking something in a creamy neutral/ivory would be nice. She would
like to continue the paint choices throughout the house...not necessarily the
same colour, but the same tone and family. THANK YOU!!!!

Answer
Hi Carla,
Suggest to your friend that she look at Benjamin Moore Stuart Gold, marblehead gold, concord ivory or the Bryant gold, Dorset gold, Concord ivory chips. She might also go across the chips using Stuart, Bryant, and Hawthorne yellow. Hope this helps, and wish your friend good luck :)
