Decorating & Furniture/moulding

Currently have painted walls, carpet, stained (fruitwood color) window trim and
base mouldings.  I am going to have hardwood floors isntalled soon and will do
painting of walls first.  - what do I do about base mouldings?  Remove them and
paint the same color as walls?  Get new and stain as windows - but that would
not "match" hardwood floors.  THANKS, Jan

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the question.  Typically, all trims, mouldings and doors are the same. Since your window trim and base mouldings are stained, I'd maintain that look.  If it's a different wood tone from the hardwood floors, don't worry about it.  Remember, everything does not have to "match", just coordinate.

Thanks for writing.

Visit my web site at: Decor: I've written about it, planned it, designed it and colored it, and I've never stopped loving it. It's not what you spend, or who made it, it's how it makes you feel.

College, advertising, public relations, marketing, free-lance writing and a plethora of creative endeavors have led me here. As an entrepreneur in decorative product design, I learned the hard way how tough it can be to be in business for yourself. A stint at a law firm taught me humility too. Some three thousand questions ago, I wondered if I could really help. Obviously, I'm still here and still taking your questions. God Bless You!
