Question
Hi Kim, i just purchased a new home and my mother in law has given me an English style wing chair(hi-leg) and i want to reupholster it but i don't know what color it should be? My living room has maple hardwood floors, the walls are beige (light brown) with cream color moldings, and my sofa is brown Italian leather, have another armchair, swivel, with a floral tapestry fabric. Want a fabric upholstery, was thinking of solid pattern or something with small designs???

Answer
Hi Bruce,
It is so hard for me to say, but whatever you do, I would pick something based off the brown Italian leather.  The cost to reupholster a piece of furniture far out weighs a can of paint that always be changed.  Find a fabric that you love!  A good upholster should be able to offer you some really nice suggestions.  It doesn't have to be a solid or a small print. But right now, I'm thinking PLAID!  How gorgeous would that be, very Ralph Lauren!
Good Luck, please let me know how you make out!
