My living room has a country look to it.  I have a sofa that has a white background with light blue, light green and beige strips (not extremely busy).  I have a chair and a half that is dark blue with dark dots (small).  I like the fact that they not the same fabric but match.  I moved into a house with hardwood floors and would like to find a rug to match the furniture.  The room is a larger room (not huge).  I know I need to add some furniture to it as well.  What type of rug will go with the furniture to keep the "country" look but blend with the stripes and dots?

You could add a floral pattern rug. It would work nicely with the stripes and dots. Just choose one with the colors in your upholstery. Perhaps something like this rug (see attached photo) found on frontgate.com
