Decorating & Furniture/Decorating around brazillian Cherry Flooring

Question
I am purchasing a home w/ Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring in the Kitchen and Living room.  I want to decorate the living room w/ a Middle Eastern possibly even a Mediterranean style but it doesn't seem appropriate.  Although the kitchen and living room are separated they are very close to being one room.

Will the Cherry flooring be able to accommodate either of these styles.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Kathy,

The simple answer is yes.  Rather than concentrating on the cherry flooring, consider it a "color" and realize that all colors work with all styles.  It's a matter of how things work together that produce a style.

Select your favorite style and proceed with furniture, wall color and accessories.  Look at the floor as the backdrop from which everything else emerges.

Jenny
