Decorating & Furniture/Can faux-suede(heavy curtains) be paired with sheers/silk?

I have these great thick curtains in my bedroom, they help insulate and with blocking light, and they match my bedspread perfectly. I recently decided that I want to add something to my bedroom like maybe having sheers or silk curtains framing my headbord, or pairing sheers with the curtains. I am a little worried about the flowing fabric looking ok with my heavier curtains and heavier, cotton bedspread. the colors are a burgundy, white, and a couple shades of khaki.

Hi Katie,

By all means, add sheers!  Not only will they soften the look of the heavier drapery fabric, they will diffuse light and add some texture to the space.

I'd add either white, off-white or beige sheers.  Any other color tends to look garish from the outside.

College, advertising, public relations, marketing, free-lance writing and a plethora of creative endeavors have led me here. As an entrepreneur in decorative product design, I learned the hard way how tough it can be to be in business for yourself. A stint at a law firm taught me humility too. Some three thousand questions ago, I wondered if I could really help. Obviously, I'm still here and still taking your questions. God Bless You!
