Decorating & Furniture/new office, help!

Question
Hi, thank you so much for all of your great answers so far!
My company is moving into new office space and I am able to
select some new furniture...except the desk, which is
already there. Anyway, I am having trouble with creating a
cohesive look and matching colors. Here are some
specifics:
1. The desk is a light wood and it's a large desk that
wraps around behind me and contains file cabinets, a
bookshelf, etc.
2. The couch I like is attached, it is brown, with
elements of dark brown/espresso on the seams.
3. The guest chairs (also pre-chosen) are fabric with dark
wood arms.
The other major piece I need to purchase is a media console
and this is where my question comes in. Will the one on
the attachment work color-wise? If not, do I need to go
darker/lighter, or am I better off choosing a different
couch? The console is far from the desk, but I don't want
the office looking like it was put together by, well, by
me. Thanks in advance for any help or direction.
AnswerHi Kevin, I can't really tell the exact colour of the console from your photo, but because of the dark wood arms on the guest chairs and the expresso accents on the couch, which are close in colour I would suggest you go for the same dark wood for the console. As a suggestion I would also recommend a light coloured area rug.
If you like the light wood of the desk you can also go for that. Don't opt for any other coloured wood as it won't look cohesive.
I also offer an 'Ask the Decorator' service on my website. I would be happy to be of further assistance to you if needed.
Thank you, for your time.
