Decorating & Furniture/wall color

Question
I am about to have my bedroom repainted and am not sure about the wall color.  The room is approx. 16' x 14' and my style is somewhat traditional.  The carpet is a solid dark blue in very good condition so I am reluctant to change it.  What colors do you think would look good?  Should I stick to colors in the blue family of something else?  Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Answer
Hi Marg,

If traditional style is your preference, a good wall color choice would be in the beige/brown family.  You could consider taupe, silver grey or khaki any of which would coordinate well with your dark blue carpet.  You could certainly use a color in the blue family if that is your preference.  If you do, consider a lighter hue to make your room feel crisp and soothing.

Good luck on your painting project.
