Question
Jennifer,
I just bought a pretty plum and grey bed spread. a link to the one I bought is provided: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=499126&CategoryID=38005
My bed is black and big with extensive iron work in black on the headboard and footboard.
We are painting our room (thinking about just an accent wall) but I can not figure out what color to go with. I like the grey but not sure if that would work with just an accent wall. My master bath is going to have a sage green wall with the plum/purple accents so should I do my accent wall in my bedroom the same sage green or would it be too much? What other color would look good with the comforter but neutral enough in case I change the bed spread?

Answer
Hi Shila,

You can certainly use the sage green as an accent wall in the bedroom as long as you incorporate that same green in other parts of the bedroom; (pulling it from one area to another is critical for continuity).

If you want to be "safe" for future decorating, eliminate the accent wall and use a warm neutral as a backdrop for the entire bedroom.  You can still incorporate the grey/plum/green in both rooms.

Thanks for writing and for your question.
