Decorating & Furniture/Kitchen window treatment

Question
Rachel,  I have a new home, that has turned out to be a nightmare, due to bad contractor.  I normally do decorating myself and I am not an interior decorator.  Between shot nerves and a drained bank account, I can't seem to get the decorating in my home started.  I feel that I need a decorator, but at this time just don't have the money.  I have A kitchen window, that I would like to put a treatment on.  You can see my living room and sunrooom, from the kitchen and those rooms have lots of windows and i have put custom off white 2 1/2 inch wood shutters on these windows.  I decided not to put them in the kitchen, thinking it would be so much wood and I do feel good about that decision. I feel I need material to soften all the wood, but the right treatment is not coming to me.  Ideally I wanted to do these windows myself to save money rather than having someone come in and do them for me.  Can you help and if so, how.  Thanks, Vikki

Answer
Dear Vikki Hall,
Are you able to send pictures of your kitchen? If so
I can give you a better idea of what kind of fabric to buy.
