Decorating & Furniture/Paint Color for Living/Family Room

Hi there.  I would like some advice on what I could possibly paint my walls in my living/family room.  Let me give you some information about the room.  We have 2 black vinyl/leather sofas, modern black metal and glass coffee table with coordinating end tables such as these (, a large area rug with various colors on them just like this (  I also have burgandy drapes that hang from both sides of the wall with 2 symmetrical windows.  We also have a 42" Silver TV on a black stand.  I'm looking for something neutral and not too dramatic.  I thought about pulling out one of the colors from the rug.  What goes with my black furniture... modern/contemporary living room?  Any help with be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Hello Rose,
There are some gorgeous neutral paints available that literally MAKE a room!  Today's paints are so much fun!

Use the rug and select at least three neutrals...pulled from the carpet and other accessories.  Also, check out catalogs like Pottery Barn and West Elm...their websites also have roomscapes.  You will see how contemporary spaces are made ultra sophisticated by using rich but neutral color palettes.  The walls become a canvas to show off the furniture and accessories.

Good Luck!
