Question
Jean,

I have an old bedroom set that is structually sound, but very scratched up, esspecially the top surfaces. It's an ugly brown, and I'd like to paint it white. Can I simply paint it? would spray paint be better? Do I have to remove the finish that's on it now (a brown stain)? I know I'll need new hardware, it's missing a lot now anyway, but I'd like a new look with as little work and as little cost as possible.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Answer
Laura:

Go to HGTV for renewing an existing bedframe also if it is real wood you can sand the surface with fine grain san paper so that all scrathces are out as well as paint to adhere to surface.

Then do not use spray paint on latex or stain.

Thanks
Jean
