Decorating & Furniture/huge fireplace

i have a large living room that has a huge red brick fireplace that takes up an entire wall and come oout three feet i hate it and would like to somehow hide it without spending tons. what can i do?

Since the living space is large, consider painting all of the red brick in a neutral color (to match your other walls).  Then at the center of the firepit, paint it with a heat tolerant black paint.  What that will do is "disguise" the brick by making it less obvious and the black will draw your attention to the hearth.  If your walls are white - paint them a color (your favorite) and paint the brick the same.

Visit my web site at: Decor: I've written about it, planned it, designed it and colored it, and I've never stopped loving it. It's not what you spend, or who made it, it's how it makes you feel.

College, advertising, public relations, marketing, free-lance writing and a plethora of creative endeavors have led me here. As an entrepreneur in decorative product design, I learned the hard way how tough it can be to be in business for yourself. A stint at a law firm taught me humility too. Some three thousand questions ago, I wondered if I could really help. Obviously, I'm still here and still taking your questions. God Bless You!
