Thanks for your question.  I always recommend the same thing to people who are leasing/renting and cannot change the color of their walls: work with what you have.  If you have magnolias everywhere, then pull color(s) from that print and use them as solids in your rooms.  For instance, a magnolia blossom is white/off-white.  Use that solid color for your bed linens, bed skirt etc.  You have enough pattern and movement in the room with the magnolia print.

In another area, you may want to pull the green from the stem and use it as your decorating color for that room.

Hope this helps.  All we can ever do is work with what we have, making it the best and the most pleasing it can be.

Visit my web site at: Decor: I've written about it, planned it, designed it and colored it, and I've never stopped loving it. It's not what you spend, or who made it, it's how it makes you feel.

College, advertising, public relations, marketing, free-lance writing and a plethora of creative endeavors have led me here. As an entrepreneur in decorative product design, I learned the hard way how tough it can be to be in business for yourself. A stint at a law firm taught me humility too. Some three thousand questions ago, I wondered if I could really help. Obviously, I'm still here and still taking your questions. God Bless You!
