I can also answer questions relating to the field of commercial art, particuarly illustration. How to approach clients who commission illustration, how to network and build a portfolio of work.
Technical questions on kitchen design and installation for the UK market is also an area of speciality.

Question hello joanna -- i used to paint a lot and i'd love to do vertical blinds, but i already have lots of crown moldings bought and waiting for me to paint to hang above the windows which are the subject of this question
i'll copy/paste my question as i submitted it to another person here -- i was thinking that since you are active in the way your description tells of, that you might be able to help me
also, if you have any suggestions for mixing graphics of any kind with vertical blinds or panel sliding blinds, would love to know
i only found ONE company that will actually transfer any graphic to vertical blinds -- but the thing they do is just like a large tattoo in the middle of the vertical blinds (with maybe a border) -- in other words, they only have a "diamond shaped area" in the center of the blinds where they put whatever graphic image (via computer imprint on the slats) -- it looks kind of funny, but could be useful, i guess, if you chose the right image
do you ever paint directly on vertical window blinds ?
i'd love to try it
here's my question (copy/pasted) -- and thanks very much for the opportunity to ask you a question on all experts
peace & love
* * * * * *
first of all, thank you very much for making yourself available to answer questions here
i have been searching & searching online for vertical blinds that are "not standard looking"
something with wild color or odd fixtures to hang them or graphics printed on them
anything out of the ordinary
i want to change the whole look of the room, but i can do a lot just with a "wild" set of vertical blinds
i have 2 large-ish picture windows (full view of the outside) at the back of the room
i could use something "art-sy" or "ultra modern"
MY QUESTION
WOULD YOU KNOW ANY RESOURCES TO LOOK AT ONLINE -- OR EVEN BE ABLE TO SUGGEST ANY SEARCH TERMS TO PUT IN TO SEARCH THE INTERNET
i've tried search terms like : "modern vertical blinds" or "architect vertical blinds" or "art vertical blinds"
but i haven't really gotten much
i did find one rod, lol, but i can't get to the manufacturer for some reason -- they have lights in the rod :
and i could have TWO ENITRELY DIFFERENT ROOMS depending if i had the vertical blinds showing or the curtains pulled across (showing the pattern on the curtain)
so they don't necessarily have to co-ordinate
thanks for any suggestion on site OR any suggestions on what search terms i could use to get closer to sites that might have unusual blinds or panel style blinds

Answer Dear Jerry,
If the blinds are plastic slats it would be easier to use car spray paint with stencils. You could easily copy a cubist design onto them, using strips of masking tape and newspaper to mask the parts that you are not working on.
I suggest that you google a variety of art movements e.g. cubism, impressionism, modernism...to see what you actually like.
It would be possible to paint a mural on the blinds - probably using an enamel or oil paint if the material of the slats is plastic - if the slats are fabric you could use acrylic paints. I think a lovely impressionist painting like 'waterlilies' from Monet would look really spectacular!
Hope this helps
