Question Three quick things I'd like to ask. First thing is the relationship between the Deftones and Linkin Park, both of which are my favorites. I know the Deftones have supported Linkin Park in the past, but after Stephen doing By Myself with LP, will we be seeing anymore between these two bands, and do they get along well?
Second question is about Korn. I know there was some ordeal between John Davis and Chino, and I know both bands used to be close, what I'd like to know is has that been patched up? And who is the one that really started it, and was Chino really serious sounding when he said it, or was it something passive.
One last thing I'd like to ask is what is Chino like if you have met him before. I heard from some people that he's a jerk, but I heard the same thing about the lead singer of Godsmack but people who have actually met HIM said he was real nice.
I love the Deftones, and am actually a new fan of them, I got into them from their opening act in the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003. I think Chino is one of the coolest and best sounding Vocalists I have ever heard.
Oh yeah, one quick thing though, will there be an Accoustic album anytime soon?
Answer I'm not sure what's up with Linkin Park and Deftones. I know Chino had some words about them in that same issue of Revolver. Something along the lines of they would never have existed were it not for Deftones.
Jon has said that he had no idea why Chino said all that crap about Korn and that before hearing what Chino had said, he'd (Jon) actually wanted to tour with Deftones again. I don't know if that's been resolved or not.
I've met him on a number of occasions. I think you just have to catch him at the right time. I've had good and not so good times with him. Chi, however, is always cool as hell.
I don't know about an acoustic album. I know they did an acoustic thing for MTV (?) that's available on DVD. I believe it's something to the effect of Deftones in Hawaii.
As a side not, I don't know if you're into them, but as they're along the same line as Deftones, Sevendust has a new acoustic album out called Southside Double-Wide. I'm friends with the drummer's brother and he told me that it is definitely worth checking out.
