Dentistry/Any restrictions with porcelain onlay?

Question
I recently got a porcelain onlay on a back molar.  I wondered if there are any food restrictions with this type of restoration.  For instance, are eating carrot sticks or other hard foods ok?

Answer
Hi Ellen,

Congrats on the new restoration! :)

Treat it as you would any normal tooth. Do not eat hard food directly on it, as the tooth can shear. Clean the tooth as normally, and especially floss around it.

Otherwise, you should be good to go!

Please let me know if you need any more help.
