Question
My son has been on the Gluten, Dairy and Soy free diet for 4 1/2 years as he has recovered from Autism.  He is 6 yrs old and just had his first permanent tooth come through.

it is not as white as his baby teeth, in addition, it appears to be thin.   He does get enough Vit A, C and D, however, I am concerned about enough calcium.   He takes a supplement that gives him some, but I guess it's not enough.  How can I rebuild this tooth to become thicker and stronger?  Do I still have a chance to strengthen this tooth?   Hid diet is EXTREMELY healthy so we are confused.

Thank you

Answer
Adult teeth are noticeably darker than baby teeth.Once the tooth is developed what you see is what you get.You can't take any supplement that will make the tooth thicker etc. What you could do is get him to a dentist for routine preventive care to ensure that these permanent teeth have all the preventive care necessary to assure their longevity for a lifetime. At that visit or when you see your pediatrician ask about further supplements to help the developing teeth that did not erupt yet.
