Dentistry/underbite

Question
my son is 7 years old, and he has lost all 4 front teeth and the 2 next to the 2 fronts on the bottom, those 2 are still coming in. The dentist always said he had the perfect spacing and the perfect bite, and now today when he saw the dentist she said I should take him to an orthodontist just for an opinion. She said he has a slight underbite. Is there something that could be done at this point? Should we wait until he loses his baby teeth? Also his back molars are still coming in. Thanks

Answer
Hi Lisa,

I am not a pediatric dentist, so please bear that in mind.
However, I would see an orthodontist. If there is a discrepancy, they may be able to prevent future problems by correcting the bite now. If you would wait until all the primary teeth fall out, it may be too late to treat, and will require more time and money to rectify.

I would suggest seeing an orthodontist, just for an opinion. Worst case scenario, the orthodontist will tell you to come back in a  few years.

Please let me know if you need more help.
