Subject: crown and gum problems

Question
hello, my two front teeth are crowns and are 4 years old, around two years ago the gum in between became inflamed and red and after a while a gap appeared in between my two crowns, it is like the gum receded upwards.Cna this be fixed and what caused this.

Answer
This recession is due to periodontal disease and could be caused by many conditions, though the most likely one is lack of hygiene, which has caused tartar buildup (which is only removable by a dentist). It is mandatory that you clean the spaced between crowns with special instruments like a small interdental brush or using a special thick floss, called Super Floss. This condition is irreversible, save for periodontal surgery, like a tissue graft.
