Question Hi, I've had several oral problems since I changed my silver fillings to white about 10 months ago. After doing so I've had two rootcanals and fear that I may be needing a third. I've also been having BAD metallic taste in my mouth. Something I've never had before I switched my fillings. I do clench my teeth any possibly grind a little at night. Well my question is, could this be causing the metallic taste in my mouth and would a nightguard help that?

FIrst, I'm not a dentist so I can only answer questions about TMJ as it relates to my own experience with TMJ. I never had a metallic taste from TMJ, and never heard of it, I really cannot say whether a nightguard would help it. However, a nightguard can help if you clench, as it will protect your teeth and help eliminate any pain from the clenching.
