Question
Is it general practice to charge per quad even though only 1 or 2 teeth are involved. Due to an accident, most of my upper front and upper left were either knocked out or pulled due to damage (I wear a partial). Thank you

Answer
Hi Cathie,

There is a different billing code for quadrants with 1-3 teeth. Insurance fees are usually lower than quadrants with 4 or more teeth. However, if your dentist is not in network with your insurance company, then he can charge what he feels is fair.

Regards,
Joseph Zelig
