Dentistry - teeth sensitive to cool water

Expert: Howard Finnk, D.D.S. - 6/15/2008

Question
Hi,

I think one or two of my upper-left molar(s) are a little bit sensitive to cool water. I found out this while I was rinsing my teeth. I this related to my pulp ?

Another quick question is that can you give suggestions for some of the best oral/dental health products/tools ?

Bests,

Answer
Dear Ray:  This is related to your pulp.  Also related to gingival recession and bruxism.  May be tooth decay.
Best dental care products according to me:
1. Crest SpinBrush Pro Extra Soft
2. Colgate Total toothpaste
3. Go-Betweens for brushing in between your teeth
4. Listerine (or the generic store brand) for rinsing after you brush

These are my basics that I recommend to most of my patients.  If you have gum disease or tooth decay, I might modify my recommendations.  But these will give you a good start.   dd
