Question I have a back molar that has the above problem. I have pain that feels deep and throbbing which seems to becoming from this tooth. Is this possible? This problem has been going on for a long time. Went to oral surgeon for root canal 3 years ago after my dentist said that the tooth need care ASAP. My insurance did not cover the tooth. Hense no root canal. I did had the tooth cleaned up and crowned. I've just about had all i can take of this pain which is always worst at night. I just want to make sure that i know if this could be what is hurting the tooth next it is gone. Oh, This is on the bottom teeth. Need information soon as I want to have this tooth pulled if it is truly possible that this could be giving this pain.
And can a tooth that has curved calcified roots be pulled by a General DDS?
Thank you Kathleen
Answer Hi Katkleen,
I'm sorry you're having this problem. It is certainly possible that your pain is coming from that tooth. However, before you have it extracted, you should have a good exam and diagnosis. It would be a shame to have the tooth removed and still have the pain.
As for extracting it, you would need to ask your dentist whether he/she can take it out. Some general dentists are very good at extractions and some refer all to an oral surgeon. It's probably more the ability of the dentist than it is the difficulty of the tooth.
