Question I had my lower right molar extracted about 4 days ago, I am still experiencing quite a bit of pain, I also noticed that food keeps getting stuck in it, but it's hard for me to just not eat seeing as how I am 16 weeks pregnant. The pain is pretty bad, but not to where I can't move, I am wondering if I may have a dry socket. But what can I do to get that food out to avoid infection?
Answer Kristen - First of all, you need to get back to the dentist to place a dry socket dressing into the socket after he irrigates the socket. The dressing will help prevent food debris from accumulating and lets the socket heal.
So it is important for you to be treated properly and get that socket cleansed and medicated. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me again.
