Dentistry - molars teeth feel uncomfortable
Expert: Frederick R. Liewehr DDS, MS, FICD - 10/16/2009
Question i have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted 2 months ago.
a month ago, my first molar feels like it's contracting or pausing on and of. It also feels tingling or like something is growing inside my first molar. 2nd molar feels sensitive when i touch between the tooth and gum line. My molars don't hurt but feel very uncomfortable and its keeping me up at night. I went to see the dentist, he told everything looks good. And suggested that i might have trigemial. Which i doubt it.
please tell me what is going with my teeth...
Answer Although you do not specify, if it is your lower molar, you may have had some nerve damage during the extraction. This is unfortunately not uncommon. Normal sensation may return anywhere from weeks to months to years, or it may never be the same. I had a paresthesia like that for may years; I had electrical shock sensations when I brushed in a certain area. I'll bet it was at least 10 years. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to speed this process up.
