Dentistry - Crown on implant
Expert: Zev Kaufman, D.D.S. - 11/6/2009
Question My dentist put a crown on implant about a month ago and I still feel the numbness , don't feel that tooth at all.
Is it posiable that implant is damaged when dentist was pushing the crown to sit better ?
Answer Dear Nebojsa:
I need more information in order to answer your question. Were you numb after the implant was placed?
Placing a crown on a properly integrated implant should be a painless procedure.
You cannot have any sensation in the implant itself, since it have no nerves. However, you should feel nothing when you touch it or chew on it. It should feel like your own tooth. That is different than numbness. Numbness can be caused by an injury to your nerves ( on the bottom jaw) during surgery.
I am waiting for more information from you...
Sincerely,
Dr. Zev Kaufman
