Answer
Kathi - I just don't get why the surgeon is avoiding the obvious connection of the implant (that is now mobile and not fused to the bone)and the problems you are having.  There is often a direct connection of the upper front teeth and the nasal area.  Abscessed teeth manifest there swelling very often into the nostril.  I am sorry to say this, but the implant sounds like it is the cause and needs removing.  If an implant is not stable and moves, it is not fused to the bone and is definitely not successful.  If the surgeon refuses to be objective, it might be a good idea to get a second opinion from a different board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon.  This cannot be left alone, something needs to be done to prevent a potential spread of what is going on.

So get a second opinion from a different surgeon and I think you will get a more objective evaluation of what is actually going on.  Again, so you know, if an implant is mobile, at all, six months after placed is has not fused the bone and there has been a failure.
