Dentistry/Filling Removal

Question
How much would it cost (just a relative price range) to have my amalgam filling removed and replaced with a different substance? Should I go to a special dentist for this?

Answer
Hi Jodi,

The price can range from $150-$1200.
It depends on how much tooth structure is remaining, and what type of material will be replacing the amalgam filling.

If it's a composite restoration, then the price may be in the lower end of the spectrum.
However, if it's a porcelain onlay or full crown, then the price will be at the higher end.

Any general dentist should be qualified to perform this procedure.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
