Question
Hey my name is Sammie and i got my front right teeth capped becaused i had a chip in it .. so the saw'd it down into a nib and put a cap on it back in aug but now im starting to have share pains and i can't drink anything cold without it screaming in pain. I told pain meds but dont only seem to work for so long what so i do?

Answer
Hi Sammie,

I'm sorry all this is going on. Sometimes, when a tooth is crowned, the process can cause the nerve to become inflamed. In your case, it sounds like this has become quite severe. You may need a root canal on that tooth. I would suggest that you call your dentist ASAP to get in for an appointment. Make sure to tell the office you are in pain. Then, after you are examined, you will know what your options are and how best to proceed.

Hope this helps.
