Question
My 18 month old has some yellowish, orange spot on her top gum above her front teeth.  When I saw it, I tried to brush it off and scrape it off with my finger but it seems to be part of her gum. It looks like food stuck on them, but it won't come off. Honestly, it looks kind of gross.  It scares me that it may be some kind of mouth disease.  Does this sound normal?

without seeing things in person, it is impossible for me to give you any definitive answer. the best thing to do is take her in to your dentist for an evaluation. it could be some sort of canker sore. it could be some sort of tissue tag. it could be some sort of tissue over an erupting tooth. let your dentist put your mind at ease with a definite diagnosis. good luck,
