Question
I am a 62 yr old male I use a sonacare brush for 4yrs now.  My top 6 front teeth are developing cracks and discoloring.  Is this a part of aging?  I do not want to lose my teeth.  More calcium?
Can you advise? Thanks

Answer
Hi Kurt,

Unfortunately, you're right. It's part of aging. Calcium only helps when the teeth are developing, so you won't see nay benefit at this point in time. Your sonicare isn't a factor either....and good for you making that choice...it's a GREAT toothbrush! About your only option is to get crowns on all the ones that are cracking, however, you don't need to worry about losing your teeth. We don't see that happening....it's really an esthetic problem. As for discoloring, there are home bleaching systems that can help with that. Next time you're into your dentist, you should discuss both these concerns with him/her. Since I can't exam you, I can only answer in general terms that may or may not really deal with your issues.

Hope this helps.
