Question
Hi I had all my upper teeth taken out in 2000 & replaced with a denture plate
I have an extra tooth in the roof of my mouth it is horizontal & can only be seen by an xray it causes me no problems & I had an xray just recently it is in good condition I am 62 years old if I don’t have it removed what might happen.

Answer
Michael - If there is no inflammation or cystic lesion surrounding the impacted tooth then it can be left.  If the tooth is exposed and not under bone then it definitely needs removing.  So you need to know if any of the tooth is exposed.   If not, then you can leave it.  If it is exposed, get it removed.
