Question
i have a daugther 7 years old , with a swelling aruond her upper c , and the tooth were severly destructed , i went to my dentist and gave me an antibiotic for the swelling and told me to come a week later to extract the tooth because it is so difficult for it to be restored , what is your opinion , to go and extract it or what ?  thank you .

Answer
Dear Sinan, permanent canine is expected to replace the upper c at 11-12 years of age so extraction is being carried out much earlier. At times, tooth is so much damaged that it has to be extracted which i think is there in your case. So if clinical condition is that bad extraction is the only option or it may affect the permanent tooth also. You should be on regular check up after the extraction (every six months).
