QuestionMy son was 8 when he fell and broke off his permant front tooth. It was ground down and rebuilt up with a veneer. He has been complaining of sever pain in the front tooth, we went to the dentist took x-ray showed nothing dentist suggest a root cannal but did not have time. Pain continued so we scheduled an apt for the root canal and dentist prescribed Keflex for the interim. 3 days in to the antibiotic treatment pain gone. Could a sinus infection affect the front teeth?
Answerveronica
sinus issues can cause some pain but usually in the upper molars. an antibiotic can make a tooth that needs a root canal calm down. the question is whether or not this calm down is temporary or permanent. if the xray did not show anything, finish taking the antibiotic and then wait a few days and see if the pain starts to return. that might be a conservative way to approach this. you can always do the root canal any time if the pain returns. run this idea by your dentist and get his opinion. good luck,
