Question
What are the side effects of capping done after root canal? how long will the capping persist?

Answer
Hi Mariya,

Actually, there are no side effects of capping a tooth after a root canal that are anymore than a regular cap. In fact, many root canal teeth should be capped to help protect them since they tend to become more brittle since there is no blood inside the tooth anymore and they dry out. The capping will last many years as long as you continue to brush and floss. The most common failure of caps is decay, so good home care will protect your investment.

Hope this answers your question.
