Dentistry/Pain after rebonding of bridge

Question
Good Morning, Three days ago I had to go to my dentist because the top left bridge (3 teeth) had come loose and actually came out after more than 20 yrs with no problems. The dentist recemented (i think thats what its called) the teeth and put them back in.  I thought that would be it. Now I am having terrible pain and aching in the teeth. The cold or hot makes it worse.  Do you think there is air getting in or that they are not cemented well enough?

Answer
Hi Mary,

It could be one of two things;

1. The bridge wasn't cemented exactly the same way as it was put in originally. Therefore, air/water is getting in and around the bridge and causing you sensitivity.

2. Sometimes, the bridges fall out because there was new decay forming underneath it. If that is the case, then it was just a matter of time before you started feeling sensitivity.

Either way, I would recommend returning to your dentist so that this can  be looked at in more detail, and an appropriate course of action can be taken.

Please let me know if you need more help.
