Hello,
)
Every once in a while I get white bumps from the tip of my tongue down the side (sometimes both sides). They are accompanied by a ridge on the inside of my cheek, and they are a little painful. The ear of whatever side the bumps are on aches, as does the side of my throat. It goes away after a few days but always comes back. I can't think of anything that triggers it, and I brush twice a day and floss at least twice a week. There is a picture of my tongue here: http://tinyurl.com/ct9njo

I'm not sure what this is from the photo - it could be many things but a distinct possibility would be oral thrush. have you shown it to your dentist? If not you should do and preferably when you have the white patches.

I am an experienced general dental practitioner in private dental practice. I have worked for the past 25 or so years in the UK, and own a busy practice in Stratford upon Avon, Stratford Dental.
