Question I had 2 of my lower front teeth extracted 5 days ago and the pain is still there. I have a large pointed knot that feels like it is trying to push through my gum line under the extraction area. The pain is severe at times. Is this something worth telling my dentist about?
Answer Dear Jennifer,
Yes-- you should consult with your dentist. Although your description is insufficient on its own to infer just what is going on, any uncertainty about the quality of healing does merit a follow-up assessment. Not all extractions heal without complications, and it is best to err on the side of caution.
Good luck!
