Question
what is the recommended frequency for cleaning by the hygienist.  I am 60 years old with some deep pockets.

Answer
Dear Joanne von Savoye,

There is no single standardized frequency of dental cleaning that is appropriate for all patients. Some patients with poorly-controlled gum disease require more frequent cleanings-- typically at 3-month intervals, while others would require less frequent cleanings-- at 6 months or even longer. This would be tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

Hope this helps...
