Dentistry/Black spot on front tooth after braces

My 16 year old's braces were recently removed but left a black spot, very noticeable on front tooth.  What could this be and how can it be corrected?

Hi marion
The black spot could be:
A)Simple discoloration of the residual cement which got discolored and left behind after braces removal
B)a cavity that stopped growing(arrested caries)
C) superficial discoloration.

Solutions are:
A) removal of cement and polishing
B) masking the spot with tooth colored filling materials like gic and composite resins / or tooth whitening.
C) simple tooth cleaning and polishing.

Results are great and long lasting in all scenarios.
Best wishes
