Dentistry/Bony protrusion 3 months 1 wisdom tooth post-op

Just wondering if Sandra S received an answer to her daughters issue.  I had an upper right side wisdom tooth extracted a month ago and have had two rounds of antibiotic as well.  I have a protrusion of gum next to my cheek, next to the tooth in front of the wisdom tooth that was extracted. It is also hard and actually feels like a tic tac or food stuck there. I also get a wired acid taste and light burning sensation (maybe from the acid taste) on the right side of my mouth. Mine also swells, so much one day that I bit my cheek twice.  I rinse daily with a mixture of salt water, peroxide and water; this really does seem to help the area.  I went back to my dentist this afternoon and he first said that he thought it was from the extraction and when you extract a tooth you are actually breaking the bone thus maybe causing some bone issue then he went on to say something about a collapse in the gum. He took a single X-ray and said that it looked good. He then decided to do a panoramic (free of charge) after feeling the area with his finger; at first look he said it looks good and the filling next to the protrusion looks good. Then he said, oh, oh, um - I said, do you see something and he went on to tell me that he believes that there is a root left behind in that area and pointed to the little black line on the X-ray.  He said that he would like to open it and see if it is a root and remove.  I told him I would like some time, would that be ok and he said yes, take a month but if I feel the acid taste and swelling again that I would need more antibiotics.  Do you think that a root left in could cause such a protrusion? What was the outcome for Sandra S daughter or have you any advice for me?  Thanks for your thoughts.
