QUESTION: On Jan. 7, 2013, I had a 2nd alveoplasty. The throbbing pain continues in the area all over gum over no. 11 (where synthetic bone was placed around 2007(???) The pain travels in the gum area, on the left side of my face, up thru my left nostril, & near it. I cannot sleep; it is constant day/night. I cannot get help from oral surgeons in the Pgh., PA area. Can you help me?
ANSWER: Sandra - It is a little difficult for me to determine the cause without examining you, but some develop a continuing inflammatory process after the use of synthetic bone. Is that what's occurring? I don't know.
First of all, what type of doctor did the alveoplasty and what was the reason? What specifically was the synthetic bone used. Was this second alveoplasty is the exact same spot as the first? Get back to me.
Let me know where in PA you live and I will try to find doctors close to help you.
