Question I am paying out of pocket for my perio work and am concerned about the recommended use of Arestin with my SRP. The cost per quad is $175 and after reading the AAP report on adjunctive therapy and Arestin I am concerned that my general DDS is reaaching into my pockets...and I don't mean the one's that are 8 mm deep!
Answer Dear Scott,
It is true that the documented clinical benefits of Arestin are modest at best, and the open-ended (read: in perpetuity) use of this product makes its true intent self-evident.
Other dentists will disagree, but I'm inclined to agree with you.
