Question Two days ago, Part of my crown from my three year old implant broke. I had it done in New York but now live in Miami. The rest of the Crown must be removed; I am sure and replaced.
There is no pain.
There seems to be no failure of the Implant.
Implant or abutment are not loose.
No Infection at the implant site.
What is the process that I must undergo to replace the crown? I do not have a dentist in South Florida yet
Answer Doris - The first thing you need to do is to find a dentist. The dentist will first of all just check the implant to be sure of its integrity. Then the dentist should take an impression of the tooth, an impression of the lower arch and the upper arch.
The new crown then can be easily fabricated and inserted. As long as the dentist is careful with the bite relationship of the upper to the lower arch, the crown can be accurately made and have a less chance of a repeat of a fracture.
