Hello! An answer to your question:

Dear doctor,
I went to the orthodontist last year on Nov 22nd and i was supose to
have braces in january but something came up so i couldn't. The reason my
parents can't afforde braces is there an aletirntive. I've heard that
retainers can also striaghten teeth and would retainers cost less
becasue my braces  would of cost 5,100. How much is a retainer.     Reply

I thought I answered this on Thursday. Retainers are not a substitute for braces they are usually used for Retaining the teeth AFTER you've been through the ortho therapy and the teeth are in the desired position.If you can't swing it financially wait until you can but don't throw money away on a patch job that really wouldn't satisfy your needs.
