Dentistry/Root problem

Question
I seem to have a rare problem with a back tooth ( the one adjacent to the back tooth in fact) on the lower jaw.Its root has 4 prongs one of which has a hole right through it. Root rabsorption was mentioned. Ive had the nerves removed from it by an endodentist and my regular  dentist cut the gum and filled as far down the root as he could. My face was swollen following this. And some weeks later I seemed to develop some kind of mouth infection with horrid tastes in the mouth, pain etc. I would like to save the tooth but it has cost me a lot of money and what has been done clearly has not worked and my health is being undermined.I am returning to the dentist tomorrow. He had considered asking the endodentist if he could remove the one bad root. Is this viable? Or is the only option extraction? Thanks

Answer
I think it's time to throw in the towel and solve the problem once and for all by taking out the tooth. Speak with your dentist about replacement options. An implant may be a permanent solution to this ongoing problem, and if done well, you shouldn't have to deal with this ever again.

Best of Luck,
