Question
My 19 year old son was just told that he has 11 cavities UNDER his sealants.
This is the same dentist who put the sealants on!
How did this happen?
Is this common?
He charged me half price to fill the cavities, should he have done more?

This is a tough question. I cannot explain what has happened. You can only discuss this with this dentist to get his or her take on this. Can you get cavities under sealants? Yes...especially if you are eating a lot of sugar. Sealants when they fail usually just fall off. They do not usually leak and decay. So I do not have a good answer for you. I guess you have already had the teeth filled. Otherwise I would get a second opinion...just to make sure about the diagnosis and maybe to get a second theory about what happened. If you have not filled the teeth yet, then this is my recommendation. Good Luck
