Dentistry/Sensitivity after filling

Question
I got a root canal treatment done two years back in 2005 October. Everything was okay till I developed a cavity in the tooth behind the crown. I showed it to the doctor he filled it with composite filling(white one). It was okay for three months then again I developed sensitivty to cold water and wet back to him. There two other doctors there who advised him to do a temporary filling on top of medicinal filling first and cal me again. But he went disagreed with them and did silver filling on top of medicinal filling. After a month I have again developed sensitivity to cold water. While he had drilled I had felt a lot of pain towards the end which he had said tooth will regenarate on top  or something and will go away on its own. I am scared now and do not want to go back to him. why this has happened? should I change the doctor?

Answer
Hi Manisha

He should have put in a temporary filling with a medicated dressing underneath first as the other dentists advised him to do.  This would most likely have cured your problem.

You have obviously lost confidence in him so just find yourself another dentist. Ask friends/colleagues for a recommendation as to who they use.
