Dentistry/Swollen Gums

Question
I was hit in the face at a party about a week and a half ago, and ever since then, the teeth on the upper left side of my mouth has been numb. That doesnt bother me so much, but the past few days, my gums have been swolen over my whole mouth, and they are sore to touch. Could this be related to the punch? I was hit really hard. I have been touching my teeth alot since they have been numb. Im 20 years old and I live on my own and don't have dental insurance, so if there is something I can do on my own then I'd love to know. Thanks SO much for your time!

Answer
Sounds like it could be more of a gum thing perhaps traumatizd from your hit. You could try some warm salt water rinses but 10 days have passed it should have healed by now, Get in to have it checked out regardless of your coverage. You want to know what's going on there.
